A few simple steps take you from ordering to backup and restore.
- First step is to order Nordic Backup from the submenu Order Nordic Backup.
- Once you've ordered Nordic Backup, you will receive an e-mail with your username and password. Use these to log into the Nordic Backup website and download Nordic Backup.
- Install Nordic Backup on your computer and select the files that you want to backup; then schedule when you want the backup to run.
- When the Nordic Backup program starts the backup, it contacts the Nordic Backup servers and identifies the files that are new, changed or deleted on your computer.
- Next, your files are compressed and encrypted with 256 bit before they are transferred to Nordic Backup through an 128 bit encrypted SSL connection.
- During every transfer, Nordic Backup verifies that all files received are transferred without errors, and then stores them on mirrored servers in two different data centers.
- When Nordic Backup is finished with the backup, you'll receive a backup report with a complete status of the backup. Here you can see which new, modified and deleted files Nordic Backup has secured.
- If you need to restore your files from Nordic Backup, just open Nordic Backup on your computer, click the “Restore” button, and choose the files you want to restore.
