Computer files may change several times during the typical workday. Computer backups normally run at night. What if there’s a crash, or loss of data, midway through the afternoon? All of the day’s changes have been lost and traditional backups can only restore data to the point at which the last backup was taken.
Nordic Backup’s continuous data protection feature backs up a file the moment you save it, reducing the time your backup is not up-to-date. Continuous data protection can protect a network share that is accessed by a number of users constantly changing files. In that scenario, nightly backups may not be often enough.
Continuous data protection also leverages some of our other features like the In-file Delta feature, which performs a fast incremental backup, and open file backup.
